CSS League Regulations for Electronic Darts
1.1 Game variants of the different leagues
Class A | 501 Double | Out / 20 rounds |
Class B | 501 Master | Out / 20 laps |
Class C | 501 Single | Out / 15 rounds |
If only one dart machine can be set up in a venue for space reasons, the CSS may authorise C/B games on 301 upon written request.
1.2 Player qualification
1.2.1 League players must have a valid CSS licence. Application forms are available online. This licence must be renewed every season. The CSS decides on the issue of a licence.
1.2.2 Players may only play for the team for which they are registered with CSS for the current season. As soon as a player is registered with the CSS by e-mail, he is authorised to play.
1.2.3 A player may not change teams during the current season. A change to another team is only possible for the new season.
1.2.4 A maximum of two players who played in a higher division (or were promoted) in the previous season may transfer to a team in a lower division, whereby only one player may skip more than one division (i.e. one B player and one A player or two B players from the previous season may play in a C team). If a player takes a break from the league, he retains his league playing strength for two years. Exceptions are then authorised by the CSS.
1.2.5 Players can be registered at any time during the current season (exception see 1.2.6). However, the player must be reported to the CSS before he plays for the first time.
1.2.6 No new players can be registered for the last match of the current season after the official match schedule.
1.2.7 In order to qualify for the team competition at the league final, a player must have played at least twelve individual matches for his team. (The decision lies entirely with the tournament organisers).
1.3 Technical requirements
1.3.1 The game is played exclusively on 13'' e-dart equipment recognised by the CSS and approved for league play.
1.3.2 Players may use their own darts if they fulfil the following conditions:
- (a) They must have elastic plastic tips that allow them to stay in the holes of the board.
- b) The darts, including flyers, must not be longer than 16cm
- c) The maximum weight of the grip part (barrel) is 18 grams. The grip part includes all parts between the shaft and the plastic tip (thread reduction and weights as well as production-related tolerances of max. 5% are permitted).
1.3.3 The release line must be attached to the edge 2.37 metres from the board on the ground facing away from the player. It must be parallel to the board. There must be a 90° angle between the device and the floor. It is therefore necessary to measure the diagonal distance between the bull's eye and the release line. With a height of the bull's eye of 1.73m, this results in a diagonal measurement of 2.93m. In case of doubt (uneven ground), only the diagonal measurement is decisive. Any corrections must be made before the start of the game. Subsequent complaints will have no effect.
1.3.4 The board must be illuminated with a minimum of 40 watts during the competition.
1.4 Dates
1.4.1 Start of the season
The league competitions are held twice a year in a spring and an autumn round.
1.4.2 Match dates and postponements
- a) The captain or the team that is unable to play on the regular match day is responsible for postponing the match (postponement).
- b) The respective match day is shown in the fixture list and is binding for the teams.
Any deviation from the match schedule must be fixed 24 hours before the regular start of the match and notified to the opponent and the CSS secretariat by e-mail. However, a match must be played within 14 days of the regular
match day, at the latest in the third-last match week of the season in question. In the event of non-arrival, the CSS secretariat will decide.
c) The last two regular matches may not be postponed (in an emergency, these matches must be brought forward). Exceptions may be authorised by the CSS secretariat.
2.1 Preparation
2.1.1 The sports equipment is reserved for the visiting team 15 minutes before the official start of the match. If a team has not turned up 30 minutes after the scheduled start of the match, it has lost the match with 0:3 points, 0:18 games and 0:36 sets. Exceptions to this rule are cases of force majeure.
With the exception of doubles pairings, the match report must be completed before the start of the match. Only players with a valid licence for the corresponding team and the corresponding season may be used. The licences must be checked by the opposing captains before the start of the match.
2.1.2 In order to ensure the stakes, the captain of each team must provide the necessary coins for his players before the start of the match. Each player pays his own stake.
2.2 Start of the game
2.2.1 The league match must be played on at least two dart machines, as far as the facilities allow according to the IDF guidelines.
2.2.2 The respective discipline is played in two winning sets, each player against each other. The two doubles matches are played after the first eight singles matches. Which players will play the doubles can be decided immediately before the start of the doubles. However, each player may only be used once in the doubles.
Exception doubles: Any player of the respective team may be used in the doubles.
2.2.3 Two substitute players may be substituted for a player registered as number 1 to 4. The first substitute player can also be replaced by the second substitute player. Doubles is played with two players per team on two courts, i.e. one player plays per court. Doubles is played with the league or team button. Doubles do not count for the singles classification. Substitution is possible at any time, except during a match.
2.2.4 If a team enters a match with fewer than four players, the singles matches that are not played shall be scored 1:0 games and 2:0 sets in favour of the opponent.
2.2.5 Each player who has been called up must report immediately to the drop line. Both captains check the correctness of the current pairing using the match report. If a player does not appear at the drop line after being called again, he has lost the match 1:0 games and 2:0 sets. The players may not leave the drop line area until the match is finished.
2.2.6 Both athletes must ensure that the required game variant is started with the appropriate options before the start, otherwise the set must be repeated.
2.2.7 A maximum of three practice darts may be thrown before the start of the match.
2.2.8 The player of the home team starts the game. The guest starts the 2nd set. Should a 3rd set be necessary, the starting order is determined with one throw each on the bull's eye. The player whose dart is inside the bull's eye (Bull's Eye 50) or closer to it begins. A dart stuck in the inner bull (Bull's Eye 50) must be removed before the opponent throws. If both players hit the blue or red of the bull's eye, they must both throw again (a dart in the inner bull's eye 50 is better than a dart in the bull's eye 25). If the dart does not get stuck on the board, the first player may throw up to three darts before the opponent takes his turn. If one of the opponent's three darts sticks, the opponent wins and starts the third set. If his darts do not stick either, the two players start again.
2.3 Course of play
2.3.1 The release line may not be crossed when the darts are released. It is permitted to lean over the release line. It is also permitted to throw next to the line in its imaginary extension.
2.3.2 All three darts must be thrown in the direction of the disc.
2.3.3 All darts thrown in the direction of the disc are considered played, regardless of whether they are scored or fall to the ground without scoring. Under no circumstances
be rethrown or repressed under any circumstances.
2.3.4 In any case, the points displayed by the device must be accepted by all. If the athletes cannot agree in case of doubt, the two captains decide.
Exception: If a dart is in the sector of the correct number that ends a set, this set is considered won, even if the device indicates a different number.
2.3.5 Each player must ensure that the sports equipment displays his game number before throwing his first dart. If a player throws, even though
the opponent's game number is still illuminated, the game must be continued as follows:
- (a) If the player has thrown fewer than three darts, the equipment shall be moved to the correct position by pressing the start change button. The player may now only throw the darts that have not yet been thrown. The set then continues as normal, i.e. the opponent throws next after pressing the start change button again.
- b) This rule (2.3.5a) also applies if the darts thrown have been deducted from the opponent's remaining score.
- c) If the player throws all three darts under the opponent's number, regardless of whether they still count there or not, he has finished this round and the opponent continues his game after pressing the start change button twice.
- d) The disadvantaged player whose remaining score has been adjusted by the opponent (point 2.3.5b/c) can decide whether the corresponding set is to be repeated.
2.3.6 Fouls can be penalised by the team captains. Fouls are
- a) Distracting behaviour by opposing players during the concentration phase until the dart is thrown.
b) Constant crossing of the throwing line.
c) Deliberate delay of the game.
d) Misuse of sports equipment or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
e) Talking on the phone during the game.
f) The player may not hold a lit cigarette in his mouth or hands while throwing.
If a foul is recognised, the opponent has won the match 1:0 games and 2:0 sets, regardless of the current score.
2.3.7 If the device continuously or repeatedly displays incorrect scores, or becomes fundamentally unplayable, the match must be cancelled if it occurs before the doubles and the league administration must be informed. The match will then be played again from the start on a date set by the league administration. Pairings that have already been played are invalid. If a machine is damaged after the doubles, the match will be played on one machine.
2.4 Overthrow
2.4.1 If a player overthrows and rethrows with the remaining darts in this round, the rethrown dart(s) will be deducted in the following round (unauthorised practice throw). If the set is ended with a dart thrown in the previous round, this set is deemed to have been lost. If a player throws remaining darts after the end of a set, this may not be counted as prohibited practice.
2.5 Closing the game
2.5.1 If the game is played on equipment without a round limit, a set lasts a maximum of 15 rounds for 501, and a maximum of 20 rounds for 501 M.O./D.O.. If the set is not completed after 15 or 20 rounds, the winner is decided by one throw on the bull's eye (in accordance with section 2.2.7), irrespective of the actual score. Player 1 throws first. The player who hits closer to the bull's eye wins the set. If the machine is set to a different round limit, the home captain must inform the visiting team of the setting regarding the round limit before the game. If the home captain fails to do so
If the home captain fails to do so, the unfinished set must be repeated.
2.5.2 At the end of the last pairing, the two captains must check that the results have been entered correctly and confirm the accuracy of all information by signing the match report.
confirm the accuracy of all information by signing the match report.
2.5.3 The match must be entered online by the home team no later than 48 hours after the end of the match.
2.5.4 The original match report must be kept by the home team until the start of the next league season.
2.6 Non-participation
2.6.1 If a team does not show up at all, it has lost the match with 0:3 points, 0:18 games and 0:36 sets.
2.6.2 A team that fails to appear more than twice or more than four times with four players will be suspended for the entire season. All matches played by this team (including matches already played) in the current season are scored as 0:3 points, 0:18 games and 0:36 sets for the respective opponent.
2.6.3 If a team does not compete for unsportsmanlike reasons, the team and its players will be disqualified with immediate effect and suspended for the next season. All matches of this team will be scored as stipulated under 2.6.2.
2.6.4 If a team has a positive or even match record at the time of a disqualification, it retains its playing strength for the next season.
Section 1.2.4, season.
2.7 Disputes
2.7.1 If a team considers a result or certain incidents (e.g. the use of players not qualified for the team in question) to be a violation of sportsmanship or regulations, it may lodge a protest with the CSS league administration. The protest will be processed by the CSS if it fulfils the following criteria:
- a) The protest must be formulated and justified in writing and sent to the CSS by e-mail within five days of the date of the match.
- b) The protest fee of CHF 100.00 must be paid into the CSS bank account within the same period. A payment receipt must be enclosed with the letter of protest.
- c) The protester will be informed in writing of the decisions taken and the defendant team will also be informed in writing of any sanctions imposed.
- d) If the protest is upheld by the CSS, the team will receive a full refund of the protest fee.
- e) If the protest is rejected, the protest fee is forfeited in favour of the association's treasury.
3.1 League sizes
3.1.1 A league consists of at least five teams and is assigned a name by the CSS.
3.2 Regular promotion and relegation
3.2.1 Possible promotion and relegation can be determined in relegation matches, which are organised by the CSS if necessary. The first four placed teams in the league finals of categories B and C are automatically promoted to the next higher league.
3.2.2 In groups of 10 and 9, the first two teams are promoted and the last two teams are relegated. In the other group sizes, the first-placed team is promoted and the last-placed team is relegated.
3.2.3 The CSS may deviate from these guidelines depending on the size of the group when the season is reorganised.
4.1 The minimum age for the issue of a CSS licence is 16 years. Exceptions may be authorised by the CSS.
4.2 In addition to playing in the league and participating in official individual ranking tournaments, valid CSS licences also entitle the holder to participate in all national and international ranking and points tournaments recognised by the IDF. Handwritten entries or changes on a player's licence are not permitted. Such practices must be reported to the CSS immediately. The opposing captain has the right to reject the player in question as an opponent.
4.3 League matches may only be played on sports equipment recognised by the IDF and the CSS. (see also point 1.3.1)
If an offence against this article is detected (even after the fact), the team concerned will be disqualified with immediate effect. All matches of this team, including those already played, will be scored 0:3 points, 0:18 games and 0:36 sets for all opponents.
4.4 The CSS board is authorised to inspect the league teams and the darts equipment at any time during league matches.
4.5 In the event of unsportsmanlike conduct by individual players of a team (especially players who play with the wrong licence or violate section 1.3.2 etc.), the entire team will be warned or disqualified. If a team is disqualified, all matches of this team, including those already played, will be scored 0:3 points, 0:18 games and 0:36 sets for all opponents.
4.6 Teams that qualify for the league final and do not collect their prize money (Appendix I) at the league final will be charged a fee of CHF 25.00, which will be transferred by bank transfer - the captain will inform the secretariat of the IBAN number before the start of the new season without being asked to do so. No prize money will be paid out after this date.
4.7 Teams that forfeit an away match and do not make up the match must pay CHF 100.00 to the home team. If a team does not pay this amount (CHF 100.00 per forfeit match), all players of this team will be immediately suspended from all CSS tournaments including IDF. Once payment has been made, CSS will refund the amount to the home team.
